Equine 74 - Calm Relax

Transport situations, tournaments, training in new locations, and similar situations can put a lot of strain on your horse's stomach. Equine 74 Stomach Calm Relax can help your horse cope with this stress.

If stressful situations are expected that increase stomach acid production, the horse receives a dose of Equine 74 Stomach Calm Relax 5–10 minutes beforehand. The positive effect can be felt within a few minutes and lasts as long as the paste remains in the stomach, which is approximately 4 hours.

Equine 74 Stomach Calm Relax is available in paste form and is administered directly into the horse's mouth using the handy syringe. If stressful situations that increase stomach acid production are anticipated, the horse receives a dose of Equine 74 Stomach Calm Relax 5–10 minutes beforehand.

For adult horses we recommend a dosage of 30 ml, for small horses, ponies and foals a dosage of 15 ml.

The paste is sugar-free, very palatable thanks to the addition of vanilla, and is readily accepted by all horses. Depending on the outside temperature, the paste may be slightly firmer or more liquid, but it is always easy to administer. We recommend warming the paste briefly in your hands before giving it to your horse on cold days.

The alginate from the marine algae Ascophyllum nodosum (Fam. Fucaceae) forms a gel layer in the horse's stomach, which coats the stomach contents.
Contractions of the stomach and movements of the horse can cause the aggressive gastric acid to reach the sensitive gastric mucosa in the upper, non-glandular part of the horse's stomach. This leads to gastric mucosal irritation and pain.
Upon contact with stomach acid, the naturally occurring alginate of Ascophyllum nodosum (Fam. Fucaceae) mixes with it to form a gel-like substance, creating a gel layer that coats the stomach contents like a protective film, thus preventing the acid from entering the non-glandular part of the stomach and damaging the mucous membrane there.
After about four hours, this protective film dissolves and is excreted directly via the intestines without being absorbed into the bloodstream.

Equine 74 Stomach Calm Relax is suitable for all horses, especially for generally nervous horses and horses that are prone to stress, have a sensitive stomach or irritated mucous membranes and/or react sensitively to new, unfamiliar or stressful situations.

Stressful situations in horses cause an increased production of stomach acid, which attacks the stomach lining. Such situations include competitions, trailer journeys, changes in the herd, starting young horses under saddle, or weaning foals.
