Fager Sabina double bridle, single-jointed, titanium

The double bridle was designed and developed in collaboration with Sabina Swärd. “I was looking for a competition bit for myself and my students that would offer a precise connection to the horse. The bit needed to be soft in the mouth and comfortable to handle. I used to compete with a Baby Pelham, but many of my students pointed out that double reins can be complicated to ride with. Together with Fager Bits, we were able to develop a double bridle with truly short shanks. The lightness of the titanium prevents it from feeling heavy in the hand.”

Fager's FSS™ system. Fager's Smart System locks the joints in any direction that could injure the palate. It feels more like a classic lock-up bit, but with some flex. This system gives the bit more stability and ensures good freedom and quietness in the horse's mouth. Highly appreciated by sensitive horses. More ergonomic and comfortable. The side pieces are shaped so that the horse is not pinched and rider signals are improved. The chain is removable on both sides and distributes pressure between the chin, jaw, and mouth.

Titanium is very light and has a lower heat capacity, which ensures greater comfort for the horse, especially in cold weather. The lighter weight helps the horse focus on the rider's signals rather than the bit itself.

Sabina von Fager offers the shortest shanks for an Icelandic curb bit on the market. Excellent for riders who want an aid that provides a clearer signal than a snaffle, but is not as harsh as with longer shanks.

Titanium has several advantages: It's an antibacterial and biocompatible material. It offers superior strength and is extremely lightweight in the mouth. It increases saliva production, feels warm to the touch, and promotes acceptance. It's non-toxic and hypoallergenic. It requires little maintenance and is easy to clean.
