Feeding high-performance sport horses and horses that are hard keepers presents a particular challenge in equine nutrition. With limited feed intake capacity, ensuring an adequate energy supply while simultaneously providing a sufficiently high amount of crude fiber is difficult. Therefore, the use of forage with high energy density is an essential prerequisite for healthy feeding.

AGROBS corn cobs are made using the entire corn plant, including stalks, leaves, and cobs. This ensures that the horse receives sufficient fiber in addition to energy, preventing its metabolism from being burdened by excessive starch. The plants are harvested at the optimal time, chopped, and immediately dried in a modern warm-air drying facility. This gentle preservation process prevents nutrient-depleting fermentation, resulting in a product with a high energy density.

The advantage of corn cobs lies in their high crude fiber content combined with high energy density and low protein content. This results in a slow and steady release of energy in the large intestine. This is particularly beneficial for horses that need to perform endurance sports, such as those involved in endurance riding, eventing, and driving.

Even nervous and high-spirited horses benefit from the high proportion of slow-digesting carbohydrates. The energy from these is released gradually and does not increase the risk of excitability in nervous horses.
