Did you know? Jerusalem artichokes – long forgotten, now rediscovered – have been used successfully in many cultures since ancient times to support the treatment of various gastrointestinal ailments. The tuber, which grows underground, is naturally rich in inulin, a particularly valuable dietary fiber that provides a selective food source for beneficial gut bacteria. This allows microorganisms with a health-promoting effect to thrive in the large intestine, while leaving less room for harmful microorganisms. In addition to inulin, Jerusalem artichokes contain numerous vitamins and minerals that promote overall well-being. Sea buckthorn is known as a particularly vitamin-rich and, above all, locally grown superfood. A look at history shows that the berries of this powerful plant were already being used in 1155 AD to support the body's natural defenses, as well as to treat inflammation and digestive problems. Due to its health-promoting ingredients, sea buckthorn is increasingly being used again in conventional and alternative medicine. It is rich in bioactive substances, which are a good source of natural antioxidants, and contains many vitamins, free amino acids, trace elements and unsaturated fatty acids.
