Description
Applying KERALIT Hoof Hardener strengthens the hoof horn, making it significantly more resilient. The horn is stabilized in the white line, bearing edge, and sole, and rendered indigestible for harmful bacteria and fungi. Horn-degrading pollutants, such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide from stable bedding, are neutralized. Horn wear in barefoot horses is greatly reduced. The hooves become noticeably stronger and more stable. Shoeed horses' shoes fit more securely, and nail holes no longer tear out. For tough and resilient horn, whether barefoot or shod.
Application: Clean the hoof beforehand with a stiff, dry brush. Apply KERALIT Hoof Hardener to dry or slightly damp hooves.
For barefoot horses: apply to the outer third of the hoof wall, and to the bearing edge and white line on the bottom. For sensitive horses, also apply to the sole.
For shod horses: apply to the lowest third of the hoof wall (at least extending over old and new nail holes) and lightly under the shoe to reduce white line deterioration. In acute cases, apply daily; as symptoms improve, apply twice weekly; and for prevention, apply once weekly.
