Karlslund Saddle Fjöður

The Fjödur saddle features a revolutionary new carbon fiber tree that offers both a low weight of approximately 5 kg and unique, anatomically correct flexibility. Its construction using multiple layers of carbon fiber allows for controlled movement of the saddle between horse and rider. This results in a better fit and weight distribution, even while riding, where the horse's back is constantly changing shape.

The saddle features a beautifully soft seat made of high-quality leather that offers excellent grip. It has a medium depth and a rather narrow waist, which ensures close contact with the horse and thus helps to optimize the impact of small blows.

The knee pads are soft and anatomically shaped, ensuring the rider has a centered position in the saddle and thus optimal weight distribution.

The saddle has single-layer saddle flaps, which also contributes to good and close contact with the horse.

The saddle pads are filled with special latex foam in several layers, each with different properties. The underside, closer to the horse, is made of soft material to aid in adjustment and fit, while the upper part of the pad uses a firmer material for good weight distribution. The saddle pads are wide, providing a large contact area, while the wide gullet offers ample space for the horse's spine.

The saddle is particularly suitable for the short Icelandic back and, due to the angle of the bombs and the design of the saddle pads, offers a very large shoulder freedom, allowing the horse free movement in tölt.

The width of the saddle can be changed to 7 different angles by changing the cup remover (model A).

The Fjödur saddle was developed in collaboration with experienced professional riders and one of the leading companies in the development of carbon fiber parts, including for the aerospace industry.
